Shade leaned back in his chair, unconcerned as the next delegate stood to make
their case. He let his shirt gape a little, revealing his long collarbone and
strong neck. The move was calculated to distract and it was certainly
effective. The women in the audience were either captured by his deadly allure
or were incensed by his lack of respect.
He
drummed his fingers on the arm of his chair while his eyes scanned the view
before him. His half-lidded gaze rose to roof level and he gave a deliberate
smile of anticipation.
Twin
shots rang out; one silent as a whisper, one not. Their discharge set in motion
an irrevocable chain of events."
